New Stompin' Grounds!!
As everyone should be aware of by now, Comfy Couch Pet Services moved from it's old location as a home based business to a brand new store front facility June 1, 2008. The overall response from everyone has been extremely positive as we move forward in a commercial environment! We have gained many new wonderful clients and received exceptional comments, which by the way are greatly appreciated! We can only hope to continue growing as we strive to give you and your pets the best service possible. Comfy Couch is not only your source for pet grooming and accessories, but we are an educational facility as well. We work with students entering the professional grooming world and with with pet owners, providing information to ensure your pet is comfortable and healthy in between grooms. Look for updates on any group education seminars we may hold in the near future covering many different health and grooming subjects.
Pet of the Month
Dante, a 9 year old Bichon Shih-Thu mix, came to us after a desperate plea from his owner who was looking for a groomer that could handle her fearful and aggressive dog. Dante had received many complaints from other groomers about his behavior issues. The extreme fear he had of being groomed was heartbreaking. Many attempts were made with several different groomers however, to this point, none were willing to give him a chance due to this behavior. We responded with a glimmer of hope and an interest to help. When Dante arrived for his groom he was very unsure and visibly uncomfortable. It took quite some time for him to even get used to me holding his leash, but slowly he allowed me to touch him and pick him up. We took baby steps through the entire grooming process and although he did not fully trust me, he slowly started relinquishing some of his fear. In about an hour we able to complete almost a full groom, leaving out nail trimming and ear plucking; two procedures he was definitely not ready for yet. Dante is now on a close knit schedule at Comfy Couch in the hopes that working with him regularly will build the trust to allow him to relax and enjoy his new experience. We are very proud of him and are excited for our new journey together. We would like to remind everyone to not give up on their pets! The hardest part is finding somebody who will take the time to help, but it is well worth the effort for both the groomer and the dog when that goal is achieved.

Grooming Tips
The Importance of Nail Trimming....
Keeping up to date with nail trims is vital for your dog's health. On average, your dog's nails should be clipped every four weeks.
Keep in mind every dog is different and some nails can grow much quicker than others.. Leaving your dog's nails too long can hinder it's proper walking ability as well as change the natural shape of your pet's paw. A proper pedicure will help keep your pet happy and healthy!
